MedAmerica Executive Team

Michael Harrington is the Chief Executive Officer for MedAmerica. He has more than 25 years experience in healthcare, including three years with Ernst & Young and five years with InfoMed Systems, Inc. He served as the CFO for MedAmerica and as the key financial advisor to medical group clients for 12 years, prior to his promotion to CEO in January 2002. Mr. Harrington has a long record of service to the American College of Emergency Physicians as a lecturer at its management conferences and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Medical Group Management Association, and American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Harrington holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Mary’s College and was a Certified Public Accountant.
Leslie Anglada is the Chief Operating Officer of MedAmerica's Hospitalist and ED On-Call Divisions. Ms. Anglada was hired in 2000 to develop and implement the new service line. She currently manages all aspects of the businesses, including new product/business development, strategic planning, sales and marketing, and operations. Prior to joining MedAmerica, she had 10 years of experience in hospital administration and physician practice management. Ms. Anglada earned her B.A. from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, and her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. She also completed a Fellowship in Healthcare Administration at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Ms. Anglada currently serves on the Board of Colgate University.
Jeff Baldwin, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer for MedAmerica and subsidiaries. Previously with Ernst & Young, Mr. Baldwin joined MedAmerica in 1990 as the internal auditor and was promoted to Controller after three years. During his tenure at MedAmerica, he has been responsible for financial planning for both MedAmerica and its medical group clients, implementing internal control structure and developing financial policies and procedures. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Healthcare Financial Management Association. Mr. Baldwin received his MBA from the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Nancy B. Hall is the Chief Information Officer for MedAmerica. She has more than 19 years of healthcare experience, including 14 years in information systems management and strategic planning. Ms. Hall is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive project planning and management framework and is the primary support for large-scale IT delivery projects. Ms. Hall is an experienced public speaker and has been a participant in national speaking forums on Information Systems Selection Process and installation of client server technology in the healthcare industry. Ms. Hall holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of California, Davis.
Patti Papeleux serves as Chief Operating Officer for MedAmerica and is responsible for client operational and governance services. She has 25 years of healthcare experience in both hospital and physician practice settings. Ms. Papeleux heads the operations team including business operations management and recruitment and credentialing as well as provides practice management, partnership affairs, and financial analytical consultation including performance metrics. She was instrumental in the development of MedAmerica Mutual Risk Retention Group, a professional liability company. Prior to joining MedAmerica, Ms. Papeleux was a risk manager for U.C. Davis Medical Center. She holds a B.A. in chemistry from Colorado College and is master's prepared in business from California State University, Sacramento.
Christopher Hannan, Chief Marketing Officer. Chris heads up brand strategy and marketing for the CEP America/MedAmerica enterprise. She has spent the past 20 years designing, producing and implementing award-winning, strategic marketing campaigns for some of the most widely recognized companies in the world. Prior to joining MedAmerica Chris was President of Pallas Creative Group, as General Manager of CKS Pictures, and the creative services division of CKS Partners, the largest national advertising agency in Silicon Valley.
Tom Powers is the Corporate Compliance/Privacy Officer for MedAmerica. Tom has extensive experience as a health care attorney and executive. In addition to his experience as a health care specialist in private practice and general counsel for a national health care system, his previous background includes serving as owner and general manager of Medical Reimbursement Professionals, Vice President of Administrative Services for Memorial Health Systems, and Executive Director of Legal Services for West Volusia Hospital Authority. Mr. Powers holds a B.A. from Oklahoma State University, a J.D. from the University of Tulsa, and an L.L.M. from George Washington University.
Birgit Wood is the Chief Human Resources Officer for MedAmerica. She has more than fifteen years of experience in the field of Human Resources, including two years as independent consultant and executive career counselor. She is responsible for the development and implementation of MedAmerica's overall Human Resources strategies and programs. She oversees personnel management of corporate, ambulatory care practice, and hospital-based employees, and serves as an internal Human Resources consultant to MedAmerica subsidiaries. Additionally, she has served on the board of the Northern California Human Resources Association since 1993. Ms. Wood holds an M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University.
